Lawrence LaPointe, Ph.D, Chief Executive Officer
Clinical Genomics is managed by co-founder and CEO, Dr. Lawrence LaPointe. Prior to launching Clinical Genomics, Dr. LaPointe was a co-founder of Enterix Inc. in 1997 where he was a member of the executive team until that company was sold in 2006. As General Manager from start-up until 2000, he introduced the world's first dedicated colorectal cancer screening service using a novel kit developed by that company. Previous to co-founding Enterix, he served as Lab Manager of the Centre for Molecular Imaging Research at Massachusetts General Hospital (Harvard Medical School). Lawrence LaPointe holds a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics (Flinders University, Australia) and a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences (Florida State University, USA). He holds multiple patents and has authored numerous scientific articles, conference presentations, and invited talks.
Lindsay Collinson, Ph.D, Chief Operations Officer
Dr. Lindsay Collinson joined Clinical Genomics in 2009 to support commercial development and general management of the business. He has over 10 years experience in product development and sales management in the medical device and clinical software sectors. Prior to joining Clinical Genomics he served as the Australia and New Zealand regional Sales Manager, Clinical Systems Service, at GE Healthcare; and held various new business roles at Health Communication Network, a leading Australian clinical software company. He has several years' research experience in the fields of cytokine biology and blood coagulation and holds a Ph.D. and B.Sc. (Hons) in Molecular Biology from the University of New South Wales (Australia).
Susanne Pedersen, Ph.D, Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Susanne Pedersen is responsible for managing Clinical Genomics’ research and development. Dr. Pedersen joined Clinical Genomics in early 2007 after six years as a Senior Research Scientist and Project Leader at Proteome Systems Ltd. (PSL) (Sydney, Australia) where she managed biomarker discovery in disparate fields including respiratory diseases, autoimmune disorders and cancer. Dr. Pedersen is the inventor of several biomarker-discovery method patents and holds a Ph.D. and MSc. in Molecular Biology as well as a B.Sc. in Cell Biology from the Southern University of Denmark (Odense, Denmark).
Howard Chandler, Consulting Product Expert
Clinical Genomics is assisted by well known industry expert and co-founder, Howard Chandler. Mr. Chandler co-founded Enterix in 1997 and as its founding CEO, conceived, designed and developed the InSure test and its means of manufacture. Mr. Chandler has over twenty-five issued patents and is the author of numerous scientific publications. Companies that market, or have marketed, products based upon his technologies and patents include Abbott Laboratories, Beckman-Coulter Primary Care Diagnostics, Becton Dickinson, Binax, CSL, Glaxo Welcome, AMRAD-ICT, Agen Biomedical, Synbiotics, and Quest Diagnostics. Mr. Chandler holds an M.Agr.Sc degree and Diploma of Education from the University of Melbourne (Australia).
Graeme Young, Professor of Gastroenterology, Medical Consultant
Inaugural Professor of Gastroenterology, Flinders University of South Australia; Head, Gastrointestinal Services at Flinders Medical Centre and Repatriation General Hospital, Daw Park, South Australia. Professor Young has an international reputation in colorectal cancer screening and prevention and has published over 200 scientific papers and articles on the subject. He is also the senior editor on the first comprehensive textbook on the prevention of bowel cancer and the only foreign member on the U.S. National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable. Professor Young has participated in and/or chairs national committees or boards of the Australian NH&MRC, Australian Cancer Society, National Cancer Control Initiative, Gastroenterological Society of Australia, the Federal Government, and private companies.

Robert Max Mawhinney, Chairman and Director
Max Mawhinney was a co-founder of Enterix and has an impressive record of successful biotech commercialisation. In addition to his experience managing technology start-ups, Mr. Mawhinney is a leading property developer in Australia and previously founded ICA Properties, which was acquired by Valad Ltd. in 2004. Mr. Mawhinney serves on the Board of several Australian companies and is the Managing Director of Blueridge Property Pty. Ltd.
Peter Jollie AM, Director
An experienced Board director, Peter holds numerous Board positions including Deputy Chairman NAFDA, Director Murdoch Books, and Syndicate Chairman CEO Institute. Previously Chairman of Downer EDI Limited; a Director of travel.com; Governor of the Heart Research Institute; Chairman of the Defence Housing Authority; and Director, Medical Research & Compensation Foundation.
Peter has also held CEO positions, firstly as managing partner in the Ghana office of what is now KPMG. Then as CEO in Australia and New Zealand for P&O Containers. He was Chairman of the NSW branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and President of the ICAA nationally.
He has extensive financial skills derived from his time as a partner in KPMG (then Peat Marwick), CFO in Australia for parts of the Hawker de Havilland group, and CFO for Overseas Containers. He project managed the CTAL container terminal finance, construction, and transfer of operations from White Bay. He was also a member of the Finance Commission for the Sydney 2000 Olympics bid.
James McNally, Ph.D, Director
Dr. James McNally is Vice President of Diagnostic Products at Quest Diagnostics Inc. Since joining Quest Diagnostics in 2008, Dr. McNally has led the corporate mergers, acquisitions, and licensing activities as well as focusing attention on important emerging technologies. Dr. McNally has over 25 years of healthcare experience. Prior to joining Quest Diagnostics Dr. McNally was the CEO of Bio-Imaging Research Inc. Before that he spent 18 years with Marconi Medical, where he was a pioneer in the development of magnetic resonance imaging (M.R.I.) and held a wide range of positions with increasing responsibilities. Dr. McNally has a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry and a master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Rochester, and a bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Economics from Duke University.
Mohan Chellani, Ph.D, Director
Dr. Mohan Chellani is Director of Business Development at Quest Diagnostics Inc. In his previous role at Quest, from 2002-2009, he managed Quest's assay development portfolio. He is now focused on commercializing novel products and services in diagnostics, through academic and industry collaborations. Dr. Chellani has served in leading roles for the last 19 years in the healthcare industry, including as Director of biomics at PerkinElmer Life Sciences, in Boston, and as Vice President of Scientific Affairs, at Enzo Biochem, in New York. Dr. Chellani received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey, and an M.B.A. from Fordham University, New York.
